CRN "IT Best of Breed" Features MR2 Solutions Marketing Event

The first of this month started off MARVELously with one of our biggest marketing events of the quarter, presenting SimpliVity and PernixData. Two very supportive and innovative market leaders had helped MR2 host a corporate movie premiere event of the new movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron. Taken place at the AMC theater at the District in Tustin, they overtook the lobby with tables filled with information on storage acceleration and the latest trend of hyperconverged technology. Steve Patterson, SimpliVity Regional Technology Sales Manager, along with Brad Ault, SimpliVity Solutions Architect were also joined by PernixData technology experts and engineers, Mike Foy and Sal Icban to provide the technical audience education about how they can revamp their IT infrastructure. As seasoned professionals in the industry, both partners recognized how data growth is affecting today's business challenges. In the movie, they saw how the fictional technology of Ultron attempted to overtake the human race. During the partner presentation, IT professionals learned how to take control of their own technology "monsters" in their overcrowded, complex data centers. Additionally, attendees learned how to avenge their distressed network environments by conquering IT pain points with the power of simplified management and accelerated performance. Together, SimpliVity and PernixData created an outstanding team, providing competitive advantages to businesses through the creation of the next generation data center.

 

Coincidentally, "arch-nemesis" Nutanix (as the CRN article put it) was also at the theater, hosting a similar event with Technology Integration Group (TIG). Online content writer, Joseph Kovar, took interest in this rivalry and featured it in his article on CRN "IT Best of Breed." Though the article mostly talked about Nutanix, it failed to mention the quality of each marketing event. Talking with some attendees that came out of the Nutanix event, some had expressed a more genuine interest in SimpliVity. While Nutanix held the event earlier during the day, it seemed that their marketing strategy relied on the hype of the movie and the "inner geek in customers," with even having a TIG rep dress up in a Black Widow costume. MR2 Solutions ensured better use of their attendees' time with quality content and beneficial learning opportunities from their partners including the bonus of a free movie. The article was under the category "Best Marketing," so we posed the question, "who did it better?" Though the purpose of the article was to highlight the general marketing efforts of both IT vendors, MR2 Solutions would like to open up this debate by asking the IT industry the same question - "who did it better?"
